Finishing Inside the 18 Yard Box - 15 mins

Set Up - x4 Cones around the edge of the 18 yard box with players/feeders on the cones (outside) numbered 1-4 with multiple balls to feed in.

2v2 or 3v3 inside the 18 yard box. The coach shouts out a number and that player on the outside feeds in a ball to one of the attacking players. 3v3 inside the box. Attack vs Defense. Repeat by shouting a different number once the ball is out of play. Defending team win possession and pass back to the feeders on the outside or set up a small target goal. This exercise can be 2v2 but max 3v3

Small Sided Finishing- 20 mins

Area size can vary based on success. 4v4, Two Goals. 4 players on the outside corners as target players to ensure the ball is in play for more success. The players on the outside should be used as target players to encourage one touch finishing, third man running. Feed balls in to the central players to encourage finishes from various angles.

Progress to players on the outside rotate with the team in the middle. Winning team stops on.

8v8 Game - 35mins

8v8 or 9v9 depending on numbers available. Shape of the team would be 1-2-3-2 to utilize two Strikers, link up play. . Encourage the two strikers to stay high and to link up and combine. Use a neutral player at times if numbers are uneven. Having a neutral player that plays with the team in possession who can still score will encourage players in possession to lift their head up and find an open player. It should allow for more attempts on goal within the game.

Coaching Point - Encourage all aspects of the session. Example of one combination below. Attacking and Finishing
